Ellen Gronningen

Violinist

Violinist Ellen Gronningen holds degrees from Manhattan School of Music and Juilliard. Primarily a freelance performer in the NYC area, Ellen has toured the US and Europe with opera and Broadway productions, recorded with rock bands and new music ensembles, performed in the Peter Mintun 30’s era big band on New Year’s Eve for 19 years, and is currently a member of the New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players orchestra and the Oakland Symphony under the direction of Michael Morgan. Ellen recently recorded Late Chrysanthemums for viola scordatura and vibraphone by NYC composer Izumi Kuremoto.
